Greetings everyone! I am still waiting to get to that cider mill here in Michigan, but the rain is not allowing me to go. However, it gives me a good reason to relax this weekend and just enjoy the family, and hang out around the house. (Also in the plans is to finish reading the third book from the Dragon Tattoo series. That is my secret mission.)
Speaking of relaxing, why don’t you take some time off and read some of the great articles listed below. You may learn something, and laugh along the way!
Barb Friedberg covers all kinds of ways to earn money ‘passively’. Check out both Parts 1 and 2. (I want more passive income! It may be the only way to associate me and ‘passive’.)
Budgeting In The Fun Stuff covers all the way she would have her own business handled, if she had her own business that is. I say, go for it BFS!
First Gen American writes about different hobbies she has tried, from making cheese to stained glass windows. Makes my hobby of ‘scrapbooking’ seem pretty pedestrian. (Can you still call it a hobby if you never do it? I think I am about 13 years behind on pictures.)
Invest It Wisely celebrates his 6 month blogging anniversary. I can’t wait to learn how I have won all the prizes! 🙂 Seriously though, congratulations to Kevin!
Money Beagle accomplished the goal of waiting until October 1st to turn on the furnace. Good thing that was never my goal! (You can read all about my furnace views on Monday.)
Money Reasons feels that President Obama hates him. Does Obama hate you too?? Read and see…
Squirreler shares the interesting concept of how market patterns correlate with consumer sentiment. Can you make this theory work for you and your portfolio?
The Saved Quarter shows a very detailed breakdown of their October budget, and shows how they make a little go a long way. What discipline!
Watson Inc. discusses how much you REALLY pay for that mortgage, along with discussion of what would happen if mortgage rates dropped to 0. I wish my mortgage debt was gone, but I think it takes more than just wishing for that to happen.
Wealth Informatics shares an interesting conversation that was overheard about how to get around the rules to obtain a credit card. (Just go to a frat party, drink beer, eat pizza, and have a frat brother co-sign for you. I know what I am doing this Saturday night!)
I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. You never know, you might have a few new credit cards come Monday morning! (Just don’t co-sign for anyone else…)

Great roundup! It’s a little chilly, but it stopped raining over here, so it’s a good weekend so far. 😉
P.S. The prizes are all claimed… but I suppose you have a chance though since not everyone has responded! 😛
Darn it! I thought I was going to win all those great prizes too, you had a fantastic giveaway.
Congratulations on all your quick success!
First, thanks for the mention!
Second, tell me if you like that Dragon Tattoo series!!! My wife bought the series, and I’m seriously thinking about reading them too! I haven’t read a fiction book in a loooong time, so for me this is earth-shattering! Since my brain is a clone of yours, I figure if you like it, so will I…
Have a great weekend!!!
Hello clone!
I have really enjoyed the Dragon Tattoo series. I am halfway done with book 3. My only complaint is there are some really graphic parts that may be unappealing.
I say give it a try!
By the way, has your wife started reading them? If so, what does she think?
Ha..thx for link. I think you can still call it a hobby if you have the stuff to do it. So I guess I can technically still call myself a skier, even though my skis are from 1990.
You ski, I scrapbook. I also figure skate and golf!
Hahaha. Because of you Kris, I am going to look like a genius (or at least attentive) to my wife. Here’s why. My wife has a B-day next Tuesday, and I have be mulling over creative ideas for things to buy her. Since things are incredibly busy for me these past few weeks, I haven’t been as great on writing down ideas.
Anyway, my wife did mention that she thought that the concept behind the “Dragon Tattoo” series was intriguing and would like to check it out sometime. Translation: she hasn’t read it yet. I suspect all the other stuff I will get her will be obvious, but thanks to you, my wife will be surprised (well as long as she doesn’t read this post!)
Thanks immensely for the link and the inspiration, and hopefully you accomplish your mission!
Woo hoo, I am an inspiration to someone. I have really enjoyed the series, although there are some really dark part to it.
Here is another suggestion for her birthday, if you haven’t read this post already. (You can get the books and also take this suggestion.)

My sister was just telling us today about how much she loved the second book in the series.
Ah mortgage payment– it would indeed be fun if that debt were gone!
p.s. My absolute favorite passive income is dividends. They feel like magic. I don’t do anything and they just show up. Truly passive. Only problem: You need wealth to generate them.
First step, blogging full time. Next step, get Kris to move to Texas. 😉 Then I’ll open Crystal’s Cozy Kennels with help, lol. Seriously though, thanks for the mention and the great link list!
Just don’t shop at the same Kroger!
That’s a great collection of info. You’ll excuse me, I’ve got to read the articles. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Thanks for the mention and the round of great links, Kris. How do you like the dragon tattoo series? I want to read them, but get distracted with too many things. If there are not good, I will just write them off 🙂 one less thing to do.
Greetings Suba!
First off, thanks so much for the help over at the help desk forum. I set my preferences over at Google and am totally good now!
Anywho… I loved the Dragon Tattoo series. A couple scenes creeped me out entirely, but I really enjoyed them. I stayed up until 2:00 am finishing the final book this morning, and I miss the book already. A definite recommend.
