Link Round Up- Superbowl Edition

in Link Round Up

Well, tomorrow is the Superbowl, are you ready?  Have you done all the requisite grocery shopping?  Are you having people over?

I love the Superbowl, but not because I love football.  What I enjoy is the fine eating and the time spent with family for a few hours.  I would probably care more about the football if our team ever actually even made it to the playoffs (Detroit Lions).

Anyway, I figured I better get these links up on Saturday as people might be a little too busy to read on Sunday…

101 Centavos shares an interesting story about his experience with the medical profession.   His post highlights that thinking outside the box is necessary, instead of just following the same path every time.

Barb Friedberg Personal Finance has some buyer’s remorse about a printer purchase.

Broke Professionals share some interesting experiences with frugality.

Bucksome Boomer shares her experiences at Blissdom 2011 .  I must say I was envious reading this article as I would love to attend a conference like Blissdom.  It looks like it was a fantastic time!

Budgeting In the Fun Stuff shares a great pictorial post showing how to make Corn Souffle.  This recipe looks delicious!

Budgets Are Sexy just participated in the Love Drop.   Check out the video in this post, and I don’t think you will be able to stop yourself from joining this great cause. You will learn that people really can make a difference!

Fat Guy Skinny Wallet is getting sore from working out, and is also resisting the temptation of partaking in unhealthy foods. Check out this new blog and follow Khaleef’s (Faithful With A Few) journey to lose weight.

Financial Samurai asks if unemployment is really as high as is stated given that KFC is having trouble finding workers at 10 dollars an hour. Tell you what, I bet if KFC started paying 10 bucks an hour where I live, that job would be filled in 3 minutes.

Grumpy Rumblings of the Untenured wrote an intentionally controversial post about some stay at home parents.

Invest It Wisely hosts a ‘guest’ post about the Tiger Mom situation. I love posts that share life experiences, and the writer has a fantastic perspective on life.

Krantcents shares the story of a family looking to finance their dream farm. Good idea or bad?

Money Reasons shares how he spent his day after the snow/ice storm.

Money Cone has a great post about P/E ratios. Very in depth!

My Journey To Millions shares his new method for sharing his net worth.   He also has some thoughts about people who complain about money, but yet make questionable spending decisions.

Out of Your Rut discusses the latest housing numbers, and also gives tips to those about to enter the housing market.   As an aside, I just love the picture of the house in this post.  So peaceful…

Personal Finance By the Book shares the story of Moe, a man who walked away from guaranteed wealth to stand up and do something he believed in.

Retire By Forty discloses the most important ‘fundamental’ when it comes to investing, and I totally agree with his assessment!

Squirreler’s shares a great story about customer service in a far away land.   I challenge anyone to come up with a better experience with customer service than Squirreler’s example, it is unbelievable!

Sustainable Life Blog has a great suggestion for staying healthy, enlist a friend!

The Financial Blogger read 2 books in an afternoon while in Quebec, ‘The 4 Hour Work Week’ and ‘Crush It’. See what he thinks about these books.

Watson Inc has a great post about mortgage defaults. You MUST read the comments on this post.

Wealth Informatics shares a vast array of free resources for learning.   I can’t imagine how smart I could be if I took advantage of all of the websites listed in this post!

I also participated in the following blog carnivals this past week:

Budgeting in the Fun Stuff:   Totally Money Blog Carnival #4
3 Boys and A Dog:  Web Wide Weekend Round Up, January 29 2011 edition

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!  I hope your weather is great, and remember, just a couple more months until baseball season!

Thanks for including my post. You picked up on what I was going for with the photo–peaceful. The picture is meant to convey “home and hearth”.

Thanks so much for the link Kris. I hope you are having a wonderful Superbowl Sunday!

Yes, the comments on that one were something else (fierce, divisive, angry, controversial, moralistic, immoral…) need I go on! Yikes!
