Get Ready For Some Great Reading!

Well, today promises to be a great day!  I am sure all of you have been on pins and needles waiting to watch the Michigan State/U of M game.  Ok, maybe it is just those of us in the Metro-Detroit area, but what a great excuse to sit around and eat for 3 hours.

So, since today will be a day of fun and relaxation, why don’t you take some time and read some of the great posts mentioned below.

Enjoy!

Barb Friedberg released her FREE E-book called the 20 minute guide to investing. Head over to her site and download it!

Biz of Life provided what I think would be a dream receipt – a breakdown of what your federal taxes really go toward.

Budgeting in the Fun Stuff shares some ways to make extra money. Perfect timing with Christmas being just around the corner. (At least according to Kohl’s which has had it’s Christmas decorations up for a few weeks now.)

Financial Samurai gives some great ideas on how to make over $100,000 a year, but you need to have the right qualities and be willing to work.  (Just don’t make over $200,000 though or you will be hated by the government! 🙂 )

First Gen American writes another great post about Babci.  Who ever thought of using golf clubs as tomato stakes before?  (By the way, why were they still in the garage and not the garden?)

Free Money Finance shares a nice story of how kindness spread and in the end, has resulted in $100,000 being donated to Second Harvest.

Funny About Money shared some fantastic pictures from a recent storm that went through the area. Glad everyone was safe!

Invest It Wisely wrote an excellent post about getting out of the ‘rat race’ and having the ability to go after what you REALLY want.

KNS Financial shares the story of a house that was allowed to burn down by firefighters because the homeowners did not pay the $75.00 annual fee to provide firefighter services.

Len Penzo provides some great tips for buying appliances.  Be careful though, because new appliances can sometimes lead to new ‘other things’…(at least that was our experience).

Money Reasons shares what he feels is an ignored tip for building wealth, which is bouncing back from defeat. One point he made really hit home, and it was about giving up if you are not instantly successful. I know I am definitely guilty of that at times.

Squirreler’s wrote another ‘Squirreling Gone Wild’ post, this time about a waitress trying to pull a fast one.  This post was an inspiration for a post you will see next week on this blog.

The Kitchen Sink shares very honest opinions about her early forays into blogging. There is a lot to learn in this post!

Wealth Artisan shares lessons learned from slot machines.  It is very true, someone is always willing to take your money.  Slots would not exist if they were not profitable for the casino!

Wealth Informatics gives a lot of great tips on how to cut your heating bill this winter (and this fall if you are like me). Thanks to Suba for mentioning my post in this article.

A very fine question about Babci. I suspect they will go into use next spring. I’ll be sure to post up a photo of her creation once it is in use.

I will not decorate until Thanksgiving, but I truly love Christmas and all the holiday lights. But, I do not want to hear music or see decorations until Thanksgiving!

Whoa! This blog looks exactly like my old one! It’s on a completely different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design. Great choice of colors!
