Before I share some posts that I really enjoyed from the past week, I have to complain about the weather. I live in the Upper Midwest and it has been consistently in the 90s, with humidity that makes me wonder if I really live in Florida. Not only is it incredibly uncomfortable, but my hair is a complete disaster. I feel sorry for everyone that had to see me at the soccer tournament today. Someone, please make this heatwave end soon.
OK, enough of that. If you have some spare time, take a few minutes and read through the posts I mention below:
Budgeting In The Fun Stuff made me hungry at 8:00 in the morning with a fun post about nostalgic food.
Financial Samurai wrote a thought provoking post about whether or not your retirement savings should be considered when calculating the percent of income saved each year.
Invest It Wisely shares a story about what sounded like a very nice vacation, except for the Attempted Time Share Scam.
Little House in the Valley wrote up a great quiz about being a Homebody or a Wanderlust. I fell in the middle, but leaning toward Wanderlust.
Money Reasons wrote a post discussing the balance of being frugal and actually getting out and eating a good steak and going on a nice vacation. (I am all for steak and vacation.)
Saving Money Today brought back memories of old tv shows when he wrote about tv characters that are millionaires.
Squirrelers wrote about the high investment returns on small cap stocks. (I keep thinking I need to invest more in small caps…)
Wealth Artisan wrote a great 2 part series asking if you would invest in your business. However, in this case, your business is your finances.

Thanks for the round up! Don’t forget to visit Google Groups and sign up for one of the weeks for the Member Posts for the Yakezie site! I can e-mail over the link if you don’t see it.
Cheers, Sam
Sam, Already signed up, thanks. By the way, when you read the post the first time, I must not have saved right because all my complaining about the heat was not included. It is there now- my title must not have made any sense!
Thanks for the mention!
It’s killer hot down here in S.C.! I was hoping since July was so hot, that August in Hilton Head would be a bit better… I was wrong!
As a Texas resident, I completely understand bitching about heat – I’m sorry you all have to put up with it now too. Thanks for the link love and have a great weekend!!!
Gee… in the 2 digits. I’m jealous! The only thing about our temp that’s in the (upper) 2 digits right now is the humidity.
Bring some of that heat over here; our nights are starting to get pretty chilly, although the days are still very nice and a little hot.
Thanks for the inclusion!
Thanks for mentioning my quiz! I’m already thinking up the next fun little scenario: country mouse or city mouse (or something like that). I’m pretty sure my quizzes are based on my dual personality.
