There are many home remedies to get rid of warts. I know in the last few years, duct tape has become popular, although I have never tried it.
One remedy I have tried is Apple Cider Vinegar. ACV removed my first wart when I was about 10 years old. All you have to do is put some ACV on a piece of cotton and wrap it with a band aid and bedtime, and you are all set. Sure the smell is offensive, but you are asleep, so who cares. The wart will eventually scab over and come off. The time it takes for it to be destroyed varies, but shouldn’t be more than 2 weeks.
I have also tried this on my kids. My oldest son had a big wart on the bottom of his big toe when he was about 2 years old. The pediatrician wanted to cut it off, which terrified me. I then remembered apple cider vinegar and decided to give that a try instead. It took about 10 days, but the wart did come off on its own. I was so happy that I saved my son from a minor surgery! I have also used ACV on my daughter’s warts too- and she had about 7 on one hand. I am starting to wonder if there is something wrong with my house now that I think about it.
Many people that do use ACV for a variety of home remedies swear by organic ACV. However, for wart removal I just used Heinz and it worked very well. Maybe organic would work faster, I don’t know.

I have always been a big fan of ACV (the organic unfiltered kind) for vitamins, health, weight loss, etc. but had not experienced its wart healing capacity until one day last year when my kid developed very bad plantar’s warts all over the bottom of her feet.
Her father had taken her to the doctor to have them frozen and purchased several kinds of expensive OTC topicals, yet a month later nothing was happening. The warts were making her feet hurt to walk, they itched, and I was afraid she would spread them to the rest of us. She dilligently used the topicals for about a month, in spite of the putrid smell, mess, and the fact that it burned, but there was no change in them.
After lots of grumbling and complaints and requests to go back to the doctor from her, I remembered you telling me how well ACV had worked to remove a finger wart. Since I had some ACV on hand, I soaked some gauze pads in it and made her tape it over the bottom of her foot. Naturally, it was cold and wet and didn’t feel good on there, but whenever she sat down to watch tv or do anything, I made her do it. She also slept with it taped on there for a couple of nights. She was very skeptical, and didn’t want to be bothered with the acidic smell and mild inconvenience, however, after only a day or two she started to notice a difference and was encouraged. After 3 or 4 days the whole thing came off exposing the black roots. Needless to say, she was quite excited and impressed and getting her to continue to use it was no longer an issue.
ACV has a lot of good qualities, is useful for lots of stuff, and now I promote it to everyone. I can’t wait until you do some more experiments with it on your children and tell us other great ways it works (or how NOT to use it). I bet ACV could cure cancer if doctors found the correct way to administer it.
My immune system must have been really crappy when I was 6, because I got about 30 warts on one hand and 45 on the other (no, I’m not making that up). I begged my mom to do something, so she took me to the doctor and he tried freezing off one of them.
He was going to do 10 at a time, but I stopped him after one and told mom that I was ready to go home (while crying). She felt awful but I blew it off and decided I rather have warts.
A month later, after being in basketball and playing outside alot, they all went away naturally. I’ve never had another one, but I will keep the apple cider vinegar suggestion in mind!
Aloe Vera is one of the plenty commonly used it getting rid of warts. Apple cider is also good in treating warts.
